| Position Summary Will execute multiple, well defined and compliant control system projects/assignments. Provide information and direction for the installation, maintenance, and administration of process controls equipment within the facility. Assist senior engineers on more complex and advanced projects. Design compliant technical solutions for the manufacture and package of pharmaceutical products. Oversee and coordinate small, well-defined control system projects and assignments in support of site operations. Key Responsibilities • Participate in the selection of new control system equipment and instrumentation for capital projects. • Assist senior engineers in the selection of field instrumentation connected to process control systems. • Specify, design and install process control systems in support of manufacturing operations. • Define compliant process control system requirements on capital projects including participating in the creation of appropriate documentation, to include software test plans, user requirements and system design documents. • Assist senior engineers in the troubleshooting and problem solving of manufacturing operations control systems, automation and instrumentation issues. • Diagnose technical issues and provide recommendations for corrective actions. Use programming software to configure and/or make modifications to automated systems and process control systems following established quality control systems. • Review changes and ensure appropriate and compliant documentation is developed and on file. Support the development and continuous improvement of preventative Maintenance Procedures for process control systems. • Maintain a library for vendor application software, back-up custom software applications, and required hardware required for troubleshooting and maintenance. • Provide technical assistance to site operating groups through investigations, control system assessments and design support. | |
| Education Bachelors Degree in a related Engineering discipline. Advanced degree strongly preferred. Experience • 0-5 years of hands –on experience programming of PLCs and experience providing automation project engineering support • Experience with specification, design, installation and programming of control systems • Knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC and SCADA • Knowledge of SQL Database queries. • cGMP and FDA/regulated industry experience (food, cosmetics) Novartis Consumer Health, Inc. is an EEO/AA employer M/F/D/V. |
