We’re currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team in the position of:

Accounting Manager

Position Summary:
Directly assist the Accounting & Finance management team in activities relating to all phases of accounting principles and practices with emphasis on the month-end close process, account reconciliations, financial reporting and support of the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley compliance efforts, as well as direct oversight of the Accounts Payable department and staff accountants, by performing the following essential duties and responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Financial systems set-up, maintenance and reporting.

Direct the monthly, quarterly and year-end close for the general accounting function.

Prepare, review and analyze journal entries and schedules to meet the close deadlines.

Perform and supervise preparation of account analysis and reconciliation of accounts assigned to direct reports, resolving any reconciling issues in a timely basis.

Liaise directly with external and internal auditors for audit requests.

Develop and implement policies and procedures in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley.

Effectively manage individuals who are responsible for accounts payable, fixed assets, cash, inventory & cost accounting, etc.

Manage the chart of accounts by reviewing and monitoring general ledger account roll-ups and reporting structure for compliance with corporate policies.

Research and implement new technical accounting pronouncements.

Identify and recommend efficiencies that can be achieved through system enhancements.

Provide ongoing support for financial planning & analysis, tax and risk management activities.

Support Financial Reporting to parent company.

Supervisor Responsibilities:
This position is a working supervisor position, responsible for offering advice and direction to the accounts payable team and general staff accountants.

This position will carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies and applicable laws.

Responsibilities include managing direct reports with training, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred

Qualifications:
8-10 years related experience; public company preferred.

External audit experience ideal.

Great Plains would be ideal, but can demonstrate a high proficiency in understanding systems.

AP and Fixed Assets management.

Experienced team management.

Excellent communicator.

Team player.

Hands on/roll up sleeves and get into the details.

Strong knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP and accounting theory.

Strong leadership, presentation and communication skills.

Must be detail oriented, analytical and able to work under regular daily pressures.

Able to multitask in a growing, dynamic environment.

Possess excellent organization and communication skills.

Proven ability to lead projects through to completion.

Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness at all times.

Seek ways to improve and promote quality.

Maintain a positive attitude and communicates effectively with all vendors and employees.

Technical requirements –
Very proficient in MS Office, particularl Word and Excel.
Experience with Great Plains, FRx, and Concur, or comparable systems, preferred.
