Manage efforts to plan for, train, respond to, and recover from life safety and business disruption threats that may impact GE Capital Retail Bank (GECRB)’s people, technology, and facilities. You will be responsible for crisis management program standards and execution consistent with program policy and regulatory guidance, as well as collaboration with internal partners to anticipate and effectively mitigate safety and business continuity threats.
  • Implement and maintain crisis management program components consistent with policy and regulatory guidance. Examples include: risk assessment, contingency planning, exercises, reviews, and training.
  • Be accessible on a 24/7 basis for immediate remote response to incidents affecting GECRB.
  • Serve as a primary crisis response manager and resource to site Crisis Management Teams and company-wide crisis response groups during potential or actual incidents impacting GECRB’s people, technology, and facilities.
  • Advise when need arises to activate plans.
  • Prepare crisp summaries of Crisis Management and other response team meeting outcomes during assessment and activation periods.
  • Work with Business Continuity and IT DR colleagues to conduct training and exercises that integrate crisis management, business continuity, and disaster recovery program capabilities.
  • Identify and communicate needed program activities, incident response capability gaps, and other issues.
  • Develop and present awareness programs to employees on hazard vulnerabilities, crisis management, and related life safety topics.
  • Bachelor’s degree or 10+ years work experience within the financial services industry.
  • 5+ years experience in Business Continuity Planning or Crisis Management
  • 2+ years experience in a leadership role in a financial industry crisis management program
  • Experience with LDRPS or other business continuity planning software, automated emergency notification systems, and incident management tools

  • 5+ years’ experience in Business Continuity or Crisis Management, preferably in Financial Services
  • Experience in managing large-scale disruptive incidents for a financial service firm.
  • Strong leadership skills and an ability to lead in a cross functional environment.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Strong project management and execution skills, with a high attention to detail and providing consistently high-level services.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills, particularly under stressful conditions.
  • Experience in managing large-scale disruptive incidents for a financial firm.
  • Knowledge of Incident Command System or similar crisis response structures.
  • CEM, DRII, or BCI certification.
