The Engineering Sub-Section Manager 5 is a member of the Platform Hardware Electronic Development Group. In this role, you will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. Also, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals.
In addition, you will:
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned program tasks and personnel
  • Provide support council and recommendations to section management
  • Establish work group goals within framework of section technical and financial objectives
  • Maintain broad awareness of efforts within group to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of work and reviews, appropriate use of resources, and responsiveness to customer / program needs
  • Facilitate communication of technical and business information between organizations and within work group
  • Communicate with management on technical, organizational, resource, and personnel issues
  • Define roles and responsibilities for assigned personnel
  • Conduct performance appraisals and participate in salary planning
  • Promote professional growth through timely performance feedback, coaching, and counseling
  • Ensure company compliance initiatives and training requirements are implemented within work group
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering
  • Minimum 3 additional years of experience in a program or project leadership role within an Engineering environment
  • GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
  • Master's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering from an accredited college or university
  • Demonstrated Departmental Management experience
  • Effective team building and project management ability
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work in a team environment
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skill
  • Product development experience in a regulated industry
  • Knowledge of mechanical design and assembly procedures
