Equipment Development Engineer

Equipment Development and Engineering team is part of PepsiCo Global R&D that works on new technologies for growth, cost reduction, sustainability & commercialization of innovation for marketing equipments (Vending, Coolers, Fountain). The group works on global projects that are strategic priority for the beverage business.

The Program Manager - Equipment Development will work with suppliers, internal cross-functional team (Innovation, Design, Procurement, Marketing, Operations and Service) to prototype or commercialize high-profile innovation, productivity, sustainability projects on vending machines and coolers globally. The role also works on emerging technologies that have the potential to shape the future of marketing equipments. The role spans exploring & developing new technologies in coolers and vending systems to project management of new equipments for commercial scale manufacturing. This position reports to the Director of R&D Engineering - Equipment Development.

• Actively manage multiple Equipment projects and assign priority as needed


• Knowledge top system level of vending or cooler and sub systems: sealed system, structural system, electrical …etc


• Create/manage Timelines, Budgets, and Quality on assigned Projects.


• Build strong relationships with internal and external partners.


• Work closely with Product Development, Global Procurement, Operations, Marketing and sales to ensure effective deployment of technology


• Research and identify new technologies for R&D


• Knowledge of standards and regulation such as: UL, E-star, ASHRAE for refrigeration and vending machine


• Ability to support cross-functional teams and key customer presentations


• Develop or revise new specification for new and existing platforms, with focus on total system performance


• Proven track record of design experience and project management


• Experience in out sourced equipment and working with global suppliers


• Ability to write system level specification for vending or coolers

Qualifications:

• BS or Masters in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. ME Preferred.


• At a minimum, 5 years' experience in vending machine, appliance industries or commercial refrigeration or air conditioning


• Strong understanding of system level knowledge


• Strong project management skills


• Solid understanding and the experience in leading project from concept to complete production


• Ability to work with cross functional team including people located overseas


• Utilizes project development processes and managing Projects in a Stage Gate process.


• Knowledge about equipment sustainability - energy and green refrigerants


• Knowledge about refrigeration system and over all commercial refrigeration


• Excellent skills in MS projects, excel, power point, MS words...etc


• Working experience in large companies, multinational setup is a plus.


• Knowledge of electronic testing and qualifications is a plus


• Ability to draft evaluation plan and testing for coolers or vending machine


• Experience in vending machines and systems will be a plus


• Ability to travel 15% of the time
