The Marketing Strategy Leader will play a critical role in setting the strategy to identify and realize new growth opportunities for the company. The Marketing Strategy Leader will provide consulting style support to help lead growth transformation initiatives. Working closely with executive business leaders and their senior teams, the Marketing Strategy Leader will develop and execute an operational and financial strategy to support our client’s goals.
Position can be located in either of the following GE Capital Retail Finance locations - Chicago, IL or Kettering (Cincinnati Metro), OH or St. Paul (Minneapolis Metro), MI






  • Play a critical role on a team that works closely with the Payment Solutions VP & GM, Business Unit Leaders and CMO to drive the strategic agenda and vision
  • Partner with business leaders to steer and execute the vision, strategy, and goals required to promote our client’s global business and continue growth and development of its capabilities.
  • Play a key role as a member of the Strategy Team partnering with the PS VP/GM, CFO, and CMO on annual three year planning process.
  • Analyze market opportunities and develop robust strategies and business plans to position the company beyond its current operational plans
  • Help to define the highest priority opportunities from an array of options, while motivating and organizing teams to execute rigorous analysis and synthesize insights to enable SLT decisions.
  • Create, execute, and sustain our client’s strategic initiatives by defining accountability for and tracking all high impact strategic projects.
  • Additionally conceptualize, develop, and track the quality, performance, outcomes, and impact of the projects.
  • Communicate our client’s strategy to key stakeholders and shareholders ensuring that they understand the strategic plan and how it will achieve our client’s overall goals.
  • Leverage strong interpersonal skills to work with key teams and individuals at our client and outside partners, consultants, and suppliers amongst others.
  • Continuously monitor direct competitors and other relevant companies, to provide accurate and timely competitive intelligence to Senior Leadership.
  • Develop work plans to deliver key business impact on high priority issues, primarily focused on top line growth. To achieve, this work closely with all of our client’s business units to identify and address issues that slow down or prevent the successful and timely implementation of plans and/or strategies for improvement
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 7+ years of experience developing and driving strategic initiatives, ideally achieved with a mix of consulting and corporate work
  • 7+ years experience and ability to present data-driven insights to support decisions is a distinct advantage.
  • 3+ years strategic engagement management experinece

  • Familiarity operating within a regulated and highly visible environment combined with a fundamental understanding of the challenges that presents.
  • World class analytic abilities to evaluate opportunities and guide business unit prioritization..
  • Ability to quickly synthesize information and create a concise yet clear presentation of the conclusion and findings to an executive audience.
  • Ability to partner with Associates at all levels of our client, including the Board, and the investors.
  • Must always be viewed as a team player and have a collaborative approach to achieving business goals.
  • Capable of quickly establishing strong interpersonal relationships across the organization that will withstand a period of significant change
  • MBA or a similar relevant advanced degree, from a premier university, is highly preferred
