Description

 
In this role, you will provide technical assistance for software pre-sale and post-sale activities utilizing knowledge of industry or industry segment processes and challenges.
 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct industry/business domain sales support through sales calls, sales tool development, demonstrations and coaching for the sales force on industry focused account strategies. Lead the sales organization with new account penetration strategies. Involved in all stages of the sales engagement.
  • Develop industry and/or domain specific sales strategy for data governance and MDM that enables the SAS sales force to establish SAS as the key industry Data Management partner to include the following: identifying industry trends and sources of major disruption in the industry, establishing strategic vision and value propositions based on SAS offerings, and articulating a solution capability at the C-level.
  • Detect and describe the customer's business needs; obtain confirmation from customer.
  • Prepare prototype solutions and presentations based on opportunity analysis and develop and present customized demonstrations for accounts.
  • Develop familiarity with company sales initiatives, product positioning, pricing, proposals, and models.
  • Comprehensively assess client data management processes, organizational and platform models, application environment and integration strategy.
  • Participate in activities that demonstrate SAS' industry experience and leadership. May publish industry articles and white papers. Speak at internal and external industry events. Develop workshops to educate sales/marketing team.
  • Identify gaps in SAS' existing offerings related to Data Management and MDM.
  • Identify industry trends and emerging issues related to Data Management and defines SAS' position regarding these trends and issues.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to customers at the highest levels of management.
  • Participate with senior management to identify and establish objectives, assignments, and goals in accordance with SAS strategic plans; assist in targeting specific customers and business partners to promote industry sales and marketing initiatives.
  • Work closely with sales staff, sales management, and marketing staff to ensure successful positioning of industry solutions and that a consistent message is communicated to our customers and/or business partners.
  • Identify competitor advances in the market.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

 

Essential
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Computer Science, or other quantitative field related to area of assignment.
  • 5 years of experience working with Data Governance and Master Data Management projects and solutions or a related area of expertise.
  • Three years of programming in a high-level language or developing SAS applications with at least two interactive operating systems supported by SAS. Specific industry-related experience may be considered in lieu of programming experience.
  • Public speaking experience.
Additional
  • Detailed knowledge of industry or market segments or in-depth knowledge of a specific area of industry expertise.
  • Familiarity with two hardware environments supported by the SAS System.
  • Experienced to Advanced knowledge of SAS System tools.
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated project leadership skills.
  • Programming proficiency as required for prototype development and product demonstrations.
  • Ability to relate technical concepts to SAS applications and user needs.
  • Ability to work and learn independently and as part of a team.
  • Travel as business requirements dictate.
