develop next gen mapping platform that will enrich millions of lives

We are looking for a self starting, energetic individual who is not
afraid to question assumptions and who has excellent written and oral
skills. The candidate should have experience developing large-scale
server-side systems using object-oriented languages. We look for good
team players who are able to tackle problems under tight deadline
constraints and deliver imaginative solutions.
Key Qualifications
- Ideally 5+ years experience in designing, implementing and supporting highly scalable backend systems and web services.
- In-depth Java programming experience
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL database technologies
- Multi-threaded or event-driven programming
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to thrive in a cross-functional team on high profile, critical projects
- Must have skills
- - Java
- - SQL, Oracle (or MySQL, PostgreSQL)
- - JDBC, Hibernate
- - Git and/or SVN
- - Familiarity with HTTP, JavaScript and AJAX preferred
Description
Analyze, design, code, inspect, debug, and test Apple Maps related software solutions with emphasis on Java/J2EE development.
Maintain and enhance existing applications in response to new feature requests.
Collaborate closely with members of other teams throughout the release cycle.
Occasional after hours support and troubleshooting.
Education
BS
in Computer Science, Mathematics, or EE, or relevant industry
experience is required. MS in Computer Science or related technical
field is desired.
Additional Requirements
- Play framework, Scala experience.
- GIS background.
- Experience with PostGIS, GeoJSON, Shape files.
