The Solutions Architect will be involved with IT projects across a variety of organizations and GE businesses. As a part of these projects, the Solutions Architect will design solutions, contribute to or lead the implementation of solutions, drive specific initiatives from the CTO and CIO level, define and promote standards and best practices across GE Corporate.
The primary role of the solutions architect is to collaborate with organizations and services across GE to ensure business needs are being met with robust technology. In addition, the solutions architect will be expected to:
  • Discover new technologies
  • Design new reference architectures and help guide the overall strategic direction of the GE Corporate IT strategy
  • Advise management on technology purchases and on future projects or environment enhancements
  • Collaborate with application teams to design and document technical solutions based on business and technical requirements
  • Collaborate with build teams to implement technical designs utilizing state of the art technical platforms and infrastructure
  • Develop and document reference architectures for standardizing platforms
  • Collaborate with application and build teams to evaluate and adopt new technologies
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with J2EE application servers such as Weblogic, JBoss and Tomcat, etc.
  • Minimum 2 year of experience with relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, DB2, etc.Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be willing to work out of an office in Visteon Village, Wayne County, Van Buren Township (near Ann Arbor / Detroit)

  • Experience as a Lead Developer or Lead Architect on large enterprise-level projects
  • Strong track record of understanding current and emerging technologies demonstrated through training, job experience and industry activities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Communicates clearly and succinctly
  • Demonstrated ability to interact comfortably and effectively at all levels, with colleagues and customers
  • Experience with developing software using Java, PHP, Perl, Python, .NET, etc.
  • Experience with software development frameworks such as Spring, Hibernate, Struts, Oracle ADF, JQuery, etc.
  • Experience with application design and development tools such as Eclipse, Subversion, CVS, Ant, Maven, Bamboo, JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Experience with software design life-cycles such as Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, etc.
  • Experience with performance analysis tools such as JProbe, Yourkit, HP Diagnostics, HP SiteScope, Dynatrace, etc.
  • Experience with web servers such as Apache, Nginx, OHS, etc.
  • Experience with a variety of operating systems such as Linux, Windows, Solaris, etc.
  • Experience with modeling languages such as UML, BPMN, Archimate, etc.
  • Experience with middleware technologies such as SOA, ESB, BPEL, ETL, Web Services, HP Systinet, Oracle SOA Suite, Sonic ESB, etc.
  • Experience with large ERP systems such as Oracle EBS, SAP, ServiceNow, etc.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMWare, Cloud Computing, Cisco UCS, etc.
  • Experience with directory server technology such as LDAP, Active Directory, etc.
  • Experience with IT security concepts such as SAML, Single Sign-On, Encryption, SSL, WS-Security, etc.
  • Certification in one or more IT related disciplines such as ITILv3, TOGAF, Archimate, etc.
  • Team Player – collaborates well with others to solve problems and actively incorporates input from various sources
  • Customer Focused – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer and builds strong customer relationships
