The Data Architect will be part of the Business Intelligence COE(BI COE) supporting data integration and ETL architecture and build initiatives across GE. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with project managers and functional owners driving data discovery, profiling and business requirements in support of data ETL architecture and integration initiatives.
  • Partner with functional and technical stakeholders to gain expertise on the systems and data involved in projects led by the BI COE
  • Quickly, and relatively independently, learn the data domains specific to the project at hand, leveraging multiple resources (experts, training, web, etc.) as needed. Projects will cross industries, functions, and businesses
  • Partner with business stakeholders to analyze the data & gathering requirements and design an appropriate data and ETL frameworks
  • Lead segmentation of data into subject areas
  • Lead creation of functional specifications for each subject area, inclusive of data quality and data integration requirements
  • Assist in translation of functional specifications into technical specifications and mapping documents, working with Data Quality Analysts and the ETL team
  • Lead data reconciliation & validation efforts
  • Design data monitoring controls to ensure ongoing data quality
  • Work with technical team to ensure design is understood and implemented
  • Lead testing of controls
  • Establish & maintain effective working relationships with diverse functional stakeholders
  • Accountable for completing ETL framework, design, build, project plans, on time delivery and within budget
  • Proactively identify risks and delays to the project and identify mitigates
  • Provides technical leadership to onsite / offshore development team through mentoring and technical documentation
  • Apply LEAN / Six Sigma techniques to eliminate waste & reduce delivery cycle times
  • Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with minimum 5 years of IT experience
  • Minimum 5 years of Business Intelligence experience on large, complex projects
  • Minimum 3 years of ETL architecture experience on large, complex projects
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with process improvement and / or operational excellence projects
  • Minimum 1 year of experience with at least one of the scheduling tool such as Autosys or Appworx.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with data modeling using Erwin or ER StudioEligibility Requirements:

  • Experience with UDQ for data quality transformations is optional
  • Minimum 3 years of hands on experience data modeling
  • Prior experience with ETL controls and governance
  • Prior experience with global teams that are not co-located
  • Clear & confident communicator (written & verbal)
  • Skilled in business writing and project documentation standards
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail
  • Resourceful and quick learner

  • Strong experience in building ETL’s to process heterogeneous data sets
  • Strong team player

  • CAP trained
  • Functional/Industry expertise in one or more of the following: Manufacturing, Finance,
  • Domain expertise in one or more of the following verticals: Healthcare, Energy, Transportation
  • Demonstrated customer focus – evaluates decisions through the eyes of the customer
  • Change advocate – actively generates process improvements; supports and drives change
  • Green belt or Lean certified
  • PMP certified
  • Experience in building complex sql’s and writing shell scripts
  • YOU MUST BE ABLE TO SATISFY THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 19 OF THE FEDERAL DEPOSIT INSURANCE ACT.
