The Graduate Field Service & Commissioning Engineer – Industry, under direct supervision, will spend 12 months in an Industry service graduate training program rotating between the Industry engineering and Service. In this role, you will spend 50% of the graduate training program at project sites.
Upon completion of initial training period, you will be placed into the Service & Commissioning Group within one of the above mentioned industries, where the expected travel requirement is 90%. In this role, you will:
  • Provide engineering assistance for a particular specialized area of a project or all phases of a project from initial development through commissioning
  • Assist and/or observe software development including design and coding of components and modules according to detailed specifications and direction
  • Participate in the analysis and development of test plans
  • Generate test results and makes observations and/or recommendations for corrective action
  • Assist in hardware development and design
  • Develop and write functional specifications researching and compiling technical information and data as required
  • Develop drawings and schematics
  • Keep abreast of latest technological developments and develop an understanding of company products, and customer requirements
  • Perform assignments to support field engineering including visits to installation and commissioning sites
  • Perform related engineering assignments as requested
  • Visit overseas offices in the United Kingdom, France and/or Germany if required
  • Provide engineering assistance for a particular specialized area of a project or all phases of a project from installation design through commissioning and service support
  • Assist in hardware installation and the safe and controlled energization and testing of equipment and systems
  • Assist in the safe and controlled testing of software functionality by following test plans and procedures
  • Collate and compile Test documentation
  • Maintain drawings, schematics and software code at current status
  • Keep abreast of latest technological developments, company product base and Customer requirements
  • Perform related engineering assignments as required
  • Visit to Customers sites, possibly overseas, if required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Technology or related field OR a High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of Electrical Engineering, Technology or related field experience

  • Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to write professional and technical reports and procedures
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to interact and communicate with internal and external customers - internal customers may include peers, colleges and management and external customers may include clients, customers or vendors
  • Strong PC skills required, including use of standard MS Office applications
  • Ability to prioritize workload and shift work activities in order to meet business needs and department goals
  • Must be able to independently arrange and organize work efforts on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis
  • Ability to able to meet tight deadlines
  • Ability to multi-task on a consistent basis
  • Ability to conceptualize and implement performance objectives that meet established requirements
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
  • Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly
  • Demonstrates a high degree of personal and professional ethics and integrity
