ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Precision Restoration Science Technician provides research and project support to Conservancy science staff and cooperating agency scientists. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Applying seed enhancements to native seeds
- Preparing field plots for study implementation
- Planting treated seeds in experimental plots
- Assisting data collection efforts
- Data entry and preparation of data summaries
- Associate's degree in natural resources, environmental studies or equivalent combination of education and 6 months of experience.
- Experience managing and prioritizing tasks from multiple sources.
- Experience performing administrative duties emphasizing detail-oriented and numerical tasks.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite software and Web browsers.
- Experience working and communicating with a diverse group of people
- 6 months to 1 year of experience.
- Prior experience collecting ecological field data required.
- Completing tasks independently within assigned timeframes.
- Communicating clearly via written, spoken, and graphical means in English and other relevant languages.
- This is a full-time, 40 hours/week position with an employment term of October 7, 2013 - December 20, 2013.
Employment in this position will be contingent upon completion of a Vehicle Use Agreement, which may include a review of the prospective employee's motor vehicle record.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT The Precision Restoration Science Technician will often work in variable weather conditions, at remote locations, on difficult and hazardous terrain, and under physically demanding circumstances. These conditions may:
- require moderate physical exertion and/or muscular strain
- present occasional possibility of injury
- require long hours in isolated settings
- require dressing for work in snowy, freezing or rainy weather

- $13.00 - $15.00/hour
