The Product Manager, Consumer Health Market is a key member of the Clinical Business Solutions Product Management team. This role provides strategic product direction for the Patient Portals portfolio, from product roadmap to organization readiness to product and service delivery.
The Consumer Products Manager works closely with product marketing, field marketing, engineering development, and customer support to align programs across our product portfolio, drive commercial sales, and promote consumer adoption of GE Healthcare’s patient-facing solutions.

Our mission is to extend the provider’s workflow to the patient’s home.

Essential functions of the role include:

-Sustains an external focus to monitor market conditions and trends in patient and family engagement. Primarily responsible for assessing technology requirements necessary to our customers to meet regulatory and market requirements; contributes to the marketing team’s efforts to evaluate the competitive landscape, understand customer problems, and identify the key success factors necessary to achieve a differentiated value proposition.

- Creates a consumer product strategy that leverages and continually improves the product portfolio. Primarily responsible for developing the product roadmap and managing the product portfolio; contributes to the marketing team’s efforts to define the market, and develop a distribution strategy.

-Develops and maintains the partnering model required to deliver well-integrated consumer engagement solutions within the EHR market.

-Drives business cases and ROI models by creating product plans that generate profitable solutions for customer problems. Analyzes customer base and drives product profitability programs. Primarily responsible for driving the innovation process and recommending best practices for optimizing product profitability. Contributes to marketing team efforts to make build, buy, partner, and pricing decisions.

-Drives the consumer product planning and portfolio management process by focusing on patient-consumer personas, user stories, and use-case scenarios. Captures and documents market requirements and translates these to product requirements. Contributes to marketing team efforts to understand economic buyer personas, the buying process, and positioning the product portfolio to win.

-Contributes to the development of go-to-market programs by creating thought-leadership in the patient-consumer market space; drives engineering progress by acting as agile product owner for patient portals, patient portal integration, and patient education functional areas.

-Contributes to organizational readiness to commercialize new and existing products by supporting marketing team efforts to develop collateral, sales tools, and training

-Supports the development of sales channels with market and product expertise by contributing to presentations and demos, attending special calls and events.

-Proven track record of developing, building, and implementing patient electronic health records, personal health records, and/or related health management applications and Web portals.

-Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written/verbal communication skills
-Demonstrates the ability to work collaboratively in a highly matrixed, global, and virtual organization.
-Strong business acumen and analytical capabilities
-Bachelors in Marketing, Business, Science, Engineering, or clinical related field;
-Minimum of 5 years applicable work experience in a healthcare IT/application clinical software market (focus on consumer/patient applications, patient education software, or healthcare IT)
-Up to 40% travel required
-Sound knowledge of ambulatory practice management and related customer and market requirements
- Demonstrated experience collaborating directly with customers on product requirements
- Able to demonstrate a working knowledge of relevant standards, policies, and regulatory environments related to patient and family engagement and healthcare IT.
- Proven ability to design and implement both quantitative and qualitative research techniques, and translate results to product feature/function requirements.
