DAI seeks a Bethesda-based Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist for a 5-year, $70 million dollar USAID funded 'Feed the Future: Building Capacity for African Agricultural Transformation' (Africa Lead II) program. The goal of Africa Lead II is to cultivate a cadre of agriculture leaders across the spectrum of agriculture and agribusiness stakeholders in Africa who will champion the cause of increased innovation in agriculture, greater agricultural productivity, and greater food security.
Responsibilities:
The M&E Specialist will provide information management and design of a monitoring and reporting system including development of program indicators to help inform USAID, the Chief of Party, and Technical Program Officers of project status and progress toward achievement of key results as agreed in the annual work plans. Other responsibilities include:
- Develop methodology for systematic data collection and analysis of program indicators
- Maintain database and meet with database developer as needed
- Develop surveys and survey administration protocols to assess the impact of training
- Work with team to ensure M&E accurately captures curriculum objectives and field needs
- Analyze data for donor-requested reports
- Provide data for reports
- Manage set of technical deliverables in TAMIS and in the P:drive
- Produce activity updates, newsletters, and performance reports, as needed and in collaboration with Communications Specialist
- Provide oversight to regional M&E Specialists and coordinate with them in conjunction with Regional DCOPs
- Coordinate with project staff and especially with regional M&E Specialists to create success stories
- Design and carry out evaluations to assess project impact
- Assist curriculum developers in designing training on M&E
- Serve as day-to-day interlocutor with any independent evaluation teams that may be assigned to look at the program
- Three or more years of experience in monitoring and evaluation management.
- Experience with USAID data reporting and matrices are required.
- Technical experience in agricultural development and institution and capacity building preferred.
- At least one year of experience in survey development is preferred.
- Proficiency in database management and data analysis.
- Strong writing abilities.
- Proficiency with desktop publishing.
- Advance degree in related field is required.
- Fluent English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
