Since 2002, the Clinton Health Access Initiative, Inc. (CHAI) has been assisting developing countries in implementing large-scale, integrated care, treatment and prevention programs. Spun-off from the Clinton Foundation in 2010, CHAI takes a business-like approach to addressing operational barriers to program scale-up and to working with manufacturers to lower prices and introduce new products while maintaining high quality standards.
CHAI is seeking an Accounting and Payroll Associate to assist with various aspect of payroll implementation, analysis and reconciliation as well as accounting analysis and reconciliation as needed. The Accounting and Payroll Associate serves a critical function within the Payroll and Accounting team. Reporting to the Director of Accounting and Payroll, this individual will assist the team in ensuring that payroll is accurate, provide analysis as needed and ensure that all processes are in compliance with local payroll laws and CHAI procedures.

Responsibilities:
- Assist the Director of Accounting & Payroll in the implementation of new country teams into our global payroll process
- Assist in scoping potential new country teams
- Reconcile the monthly tax remittance to local authorities with payroll records and cash funding requests and research any variances
- Research and draft communications to update tax changes to applicable staff when local payroll laws are revised or enacted
- Be proficient and knowledgeable with payroll tax laws in countries where HQ processes payroll
- Quality control review of payroll, including variance analysis, on a monthly basis
- Provide support to internal requests for payroll information related to audits
- Assist in reconciling all payroll liability accounts on the balance sheet and researching variances
- Assist in payroll data collection as requested
- Assist in reviewing the journal entries related to payroll to ensure proper allocations
- Assist in the GL review of local national payrolls paid in-country to ensure proper accounting
Qualifications:
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting, business, or a related field.
- Requires 3 or more years of payroll and/or accounting experience.
- Must have intermediate excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups).
- Strong analytical skills a must
- Must be a problem solver
- Knowledge of payroll and accounting practices and principles.
