ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The GRP Coordinator provides high-level administrative and project management support to senior staff and other members of the Conservancy's Great Rivers Partnership team within the Global Water Program. This includes: leading the organization of meetings, coordinating logistics for major team activities, supporting smooth functioning of fundraising activity including liaising with the GRP DoP to ensure adequate preparation and planning of events, briefings, materials, setting up and maintaining key information systems, managing and formalizing program contracts, contributing to knowledge management efforts for teams within the Great Rivers Partnership, lead recruitment and on-boarding process for new team staff, and working with the team Finance Specialist to ensure timely payment of invoices, recording of expenses and retention of records.
This position requires strong communication skills, technological savvy (including an advanced knowledge of MS Office, Windows and PowerPoint) as well as exceptional efficiency, professionalism and maturity. S/he performs diverse, highly responsible, complex, and non-supervised functions that require recurring contact with senior managers, administrators, directors, and department heads both internally and externally. S/he must exercise superb initiative and independent judgment in supervising and managing daily office activities, and discretion in the dissemination of information to staff and external contacts. Position requires extraordinary organizational skills, team approach, judgment, tact and poise. S/he will have in-depth exposure to freshwater issues in relation to the conservation movement. TNC
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and 2 years related experience, Associate's degree and 4 years related experience, or equivalent combination.
  • Experience coordinating multiple central administrative processes, such as central services, central filing, telephone reception, printing, maintaining office supplies, and/or general purchasing requests, or equivalent.
  • Experience in customer service and/or written/verbal communication with a wide range of people including employees, the public, vendors, or others.
  • Experience using MS office, Word, and Excel. Experience working with SharePoint preferred.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree and 2-3 years related experience, Associate's degree and 4 to 5 years related experience or equivalent combination.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills in English; proficiency in Spanish is desirable
  • Experience in MS Office, Word and Excel, and Power Point. Ability to use advanced computer functions including navigating the Internet. Ability to manipulate, analyze and interpret data.
  • Service oriented. Courteous, personable, tactful and able to deal effectively and sensitively with all levels of staff and public.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize time and manage diverse activities. Meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated flexibility to changing situations and priorities.
