The BUSS Mediaroom OEM Hardware team is a program management team that drives Mediaroom’s vision and strategy across the multi-billion dollar hardware ecosystem. We’re searching for professionals to help Ericsson win the digital home by enabling and delivering on the technologies to enable IPTV. As the Program Manager you will help develop, drive, and execute on day to day sustaining program issues and ensure OEM and SoC technical readiness to ship products. You will manage technical relationships with key OEMs and SoC manufacturers, develop and own the technical engagement framework, provide engineering feedback directly into the product groups and ensure our OEM partners successfully launch our platform and services products.

This position will interact across Ericsson as well with OEM’s and SoC partners. Key to the success of this role is the ability to develop and maintain trusted working relationships with key partners and relevant Ericsson product groups, to enable engineering alignment, innovation and future revenue. A successful candidate should be able to think strategically about technical issues and be familiar with technologies. The candidate should be a self-starter who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and drive them to completion effectively. These projects will demand strong working relationships and interactions with customers, senior executives, technical leaders, and product groups within Ericsson. This position has frequent contact with all levels of Ericsson managers and employees and frequent contact with key partners around the world.

Responsibilities include:
Technical Leadership
- Work closely with our silicon partners to provide the IPTV ecosystem with state-of-the-art technology and create breakthroughs in the television and consumer device experience
- Execute day to day problem solving necessary to keep the project on schedule
- Advise and manage partners through pre-release development and testing process synchronized with software/hardware delivery schedules.
- Be the leader in the room when presenting technical issues to the management team
- Engage with engineering disciplines in external organizations to define solutions to production issues.
- Define and enable innovative, breakthrough experiences with the SoC and OEM partners
Account Planning and Management
- Build and maintain trusted technical and executive customer relationships.
- Learn about the partner’s business environment and technology roadmap, surface partner and industry insight and identify key opportunities to align and grow Ericsson’s business through technology exploits.
- Develop the engagement framework and execute on the technical components.
- Organize partner meetings, visit partners on site, and represent partner issues at critical decision making meetings.
- Communicate BUSS Ericsson and upcoming product direction to the partner
Cross group Collaboration
- Proactively partner and influence product planning and development teams across BUSS and Ericsson
- Adapt and execute engineering strategy within BUSS
- Work with our internal teams to gather and communicate system requirements to the partners (including technical specifications), as well as provide input into our design decisions.

Qualifications Recommended
- Education/Experience: A BS degree in Electrical Engineering or other technical degree, MS degree is an advantage and 2-4 years related industry technical management, and/or systems engineering experience. Passion for interactive TV, digital television systems, Experience working with television or set top box OEM’s, SoC manufacturers, IHV’s, ISV’s or systems integrators a plus. The candidate must have excellent written and verbal, individual and group communication skills, including good presentation skills.
- Knowledge of the design process of modern STB SoCs from conception to manufacturing.
- Knowledge of standard video and compressed video technologies (H.264, WMV, MPEG standards)
- Working knowledge of computer graphics, security, Networking (TCP/IP, WiFi, Satellite, Cable)
- Experience creating technical specifications
- Experience participating in system bring-up and test.
- Experience in SoC post sales technical support
- Experience in managing external partners
