Job Summary: Infrastructure Architect
The Mediaroom Solutions Architecture team is seeking a candidate to provide technical guidance as a subject matter expert regarding the architecture & scalability of the Mediaroom application and associated core Windows/IIS/SQL software.
 
Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility is to interact with the Tier1 telecommunications designated architecture, planning, engineering, operations, and management teams to deliver solutions that expedite deployments, improve availability, and reduce cost. The Infrastructure Architect consults with and plans for the software architecture deployment including network design and validation, server scalability, server availability, geo-redundancy, monitoring, as well as datacenter security. The infrastructure architect will work with most major Microsoft technologies on the largest and most technologically advanced commercial IPTV system. The ability to provide creative engineering and innovative solutions is a key requirement for success.
 
Duties will include the following:
• Scope, design, define and plan for Infrastructure Architecture and system deployment and/or upgrade as well as integration into complex carrier grade systems.
• Must be able to communicate at an executive level with Tier1 customer and partner senior management. Interpersonal awareness and communication skills are required.
• Analyze customer technology, define business requirements and participate in risk analysis
• Develop technical presentations and proposals, and perform customer presentations, trainings and workshops
• Element/Server Management System (monitoring) development and Architecture/planning.
• Works to ensure that deployment infrastructure matches reference architecture and ensures that test systems are representative of production.
• Assists in hardware sizing and recommendation, capacity planning, diagnostics analysis, and server placement.
• Provides guidance on the software as it relates to external hardware dependencies such as encoders, network infrastructure, VOD Content Management etc.
• Provides guidance for security of Windows Servers and related software.
• Technological proficiency required in Web services, IIS, Cloud, Active Directory, Multicast networking, TCP diagnostics, SCCM, SCOM, and SQL.
• Work with Product Engineering team on list of potential activities and solutions
• Participate in knowledge transfer, documentation and information sharing while staying abreast of on new technology/technical areas
• IPTV and/or Mediaroom expertise are a strong advantage
• Must have writing and speaking fluency in English

• Fluency in Spanish or other languages
• Experience around Cloud technology
• Core and Web development skills
• Integration architect skills
