Senior Program Manager (technical)
Job descriptionThe
GSPM manages the lifecycle of assigned products for Global Services
from product introduction to EOSL (end of service life) by leading or
participating in cross-functional teams that ensure EMC Global Services
is ready for the new product or release. The GSPM also represents GS
requirements for NPI programs towards product management and engineering
to ensure new products can be deployed and supported in a cost
effective and TCE-friendly way.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Formally tracks and communicates status of assigned products, product road maps, short and long term objectives as well as initiatives. This includes program status, program readiness, business and technical issues, operational risks and recommended resolution plans across functional organizations and management.
- Analyzes product-specific support, SRE and Cost of Service data to identify opportunities for xAbility, TCE and cost of service improvements.
- Influences USD engineering to adopt GS recommended product design changes that increase xAbility (serviceability, etc.), improves the Total Customer Experience (TCE) and reduces cost of service.
- Cooperates with all relevant GS entities to identify their requirements and plans to incorporate the new product/release
- Follows EMC product lifecycle processes and NPI program management methodologies for the assigned products/programs.
SKILLS
· Strong product/technology/industry knowledge.
· Strategic planning abilities - prioritize projects and deliverables.
· Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup.
· Ability to work effectively with senior management.
· Good communication and cross-functional skills.
· PMI or Six Sigma certification a plus
· Use of Social media, remote meeting and communication tools
