Description
The Finance Analyst – OPEN Acquisitions will provide analytical, strategic, and thought leadership support to the OPEN Acquisition marketing organization, responsible for attracting new business accounts into the US small business credit card portfolio within American Express. The focus of this role will be on establishing an effective balance of driving metric performance and long-term profitability while aligning with the top strategic priorities of the business.
Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with the business to help them understand the financial impacts of their decisions and provide financial insights that can be used to influence investment allocations
* Develop business cases, analyze past portfolio performance as well as channel profitability to optimize the business unit’s largest advertising and promotion investment pool
* Offer insights into pricing, incentives, and segmentation by challenging the status quo and enhancing the reporting process
* Manipulate and synthesize large data sets and structure analyses for both new and existing investment alternatives
* Incumbent will have significant interaction with business partners, and managing cross-functional relationships with Marketing, Risk, and Finance will be a key component of success in the role
Qualifications
* Understanding of channel distribution as well as both charge and lending card economics
* Demonstrated strategic thought leadership skills and creativity
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to create and maintain financial models in Excel
* Ability to present to and influence a range of audiences including senior executives and non-finance people
* Ability to work collaboratively across functions to shape winning strategies
* Working knowledge of data marts is a plus
* 2-4 years of experience
