marketing is responsible for identifying dealer needs and responding
quickly and effectively.
What You’ll Do
John Deere Corporate Office is seeking an Instructional Designer/Developer
to develop and deliver training for our dealer customers, as well as
channel partners and internal personnel. In this position, you will gain
excellent dealership knowledge and experience to grow your John Deere
career as well as have the opportunity to:
- Determine and implement an appropriate training approach using sound instructional design and adult learning principles
- Design, development and maintain instructor-led and online training content for John Deere Dealers describing the EQUIP business system and other Deere applications
- Deliver training for dealer customers as well as internal employees
- Identify and implement new technology-based training solutions to meet dealer needs
- Design and produce video based and help system content
- Use design principals to ensure that training content is both effective and visually appealing
- Use project management skills to manage translation or other assigned projects
What It Takes
We need an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, who
thrives on solving problems and working in a global team environment.
Ideally, you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Instructional
Technology, or a similar discipline and/or equivalent work experience.
We also require:
- 1+ years of experience designing, developing and maintaining training or technical content
- 1+ years of experience delivering instructor-led training or presentations for large groups
- Experience utilizing the following tools: Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)
- Very strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms
- Strong attention to detail
- Proven track record of going above and beyond to serve internal or external customers
- Willingness and ability to travel both domestically and internationally up to 25%
A strong candidate will also have:
- Experience assessing training needs
- Experience creating and editing video-based training content
- Experience utilizing any of the following tools: Adobe (PhotoShop and Captivate), Articulate, Camtasia Studio, SoundForge or other audio editor
- Knowledge of graphic design principles
- Experience developing and implementing online training and/or help systems
- Experience managing the translation of training content
- Basic knowledge or experience with JD dealership operations
- Background and/or experience with accounting principles
