Admiral IT are looking for a Business Analyst to assist in the delivery of a new programme of work, the outcome of which will be a refresh of the core Policy Administration system and a new Data Warehouse for the UK business. This will encompass a portfolio of projects where excellent relationships with the business Stakeholders and IT delivery teams will be paramount.
In addition to the main programme the role holder may also be required to work on other Business as Usual projects within IT from time to time if necessary.
Job Purpose
Acting as an interface between IT and Business Stakeholders, the Business Analyst provides in-depth Admiral business knowledge to both the Bolt Programme Delivery Teams and Business as Usual Delivery Teams.
Main Duties
The role holder will be expected to work on complex system functions and provide an end-to-end project delivery focus through effective business analysis and project management functions to facilitate quality focussed business change.
The role also includes:
  • Responsibility for the delivery of Business analysis tasks for IT projects of varying sizes and complexity within their specific area.
  • Support the Project manager to deliver projects to cost, time and quality.
  • Timely production and communication of business analysis tasks in progress to key stakeholders.
  • Support the project technical resource throughout the build and test process
  • Act as a liaison between technical resource and the business
  • Provision of Business Analysis Documentation in accordance with EUI Standards including requirements and scoping documents.
  • Meeting with Business Stakeholders to discuss new and existing Business requirements.
  • Work with 3rd party companies to define business requirements as appropriate.
  • Documenting Business Requirements & communication with affected stakeholders.
  • Progressing and achieving sign-off of all Business Functional and Non-functional Specifications in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring and reporting on business analysis task progress.
  • Highlighting business requirement or project dependencies to the Project manager.
  • Arrange, facilitate and take an active part in Business Requirements gathering workshops with IT and the Business, as well as third party companies.
  • Monitor traceability from Technical Specifications, Functional Specifications back to Business Requirements.
  • Assist the PM with communication of implementation plans to all business stakeholders, raising awareness of forthcoming releases.
  • Co-ordination of UAT activities in conjunction with the Test team Manager:
    • Provision of testing support.
    • Assisting with documenting and reviewing test plans.
    • Support resolution of errors identified through testing.
This is not a full definition of the role but covers the main aspects and drivers for success.
Experience and Qualifications Required
Desirable:
  • Commercially aware.
  • Knowledge of system testing and software quality assurance best practises.
  • Strong focus on the delivery of exceptional customer service.
  • Demonstrable experience with business and technical requirements analysis, modelling, verification and methodology.
  • A working knowledge of systems development life cycle’s (SDLC)
  • ISEB qualifications or equivalent are advantageous but not essential
  • Previous experience of transformation programme such as policy administration system refresh/replacement.
