We’re currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team in the position of: Cash Poster (6 mo assignment) Position Summary: This position will perform cash posting and EOB analysis on a detailed line item basis. The qualified candidate will possess solid experience in the medical industry as a Cash Poster and EOB Analyst and should have extensive familiarity with reimbursement policy(s) for in and out of network benefits levels, applicable deductible and co-insurance per policy benefits and Genoptix billing policy, administration of claims payments. Must possess full knowledge of all medical benefit levels, fee schedule reimbursement methodology; and regulatory requirements for physician coding and reimbursement. Familiarity of all insurance plan types: Federal, State, and PPO, HMO, and Indemnity Plan structures. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • EOB and EOMB analysis • Initiate telephone call to health plan when required • Cash posting – line item level - data entry and electronic posting • Adjustment(s) posting – line item level - data entry and electronic posting • Process overpayments and refunds to insurance companies and/or patients • Working knowledge of appropriate coding systems; CPT, ICD-9 and HCPCS, coverage; LCD/NCD and reimbursement associated with such codes • Comply with Federal and State legislation pertaining to all billing related matters • Comply with all Safety, Emergency, Hazard, OSHA, HIPAA, Quality Assurance and Administrative Plans, Policies, Guidelines, Protocol, and Standards
Minimum requirements	Qualifications: • Knowledge of health care billing procedures, documentation, and standards • Ability to make evaluative judgments • Knowledge of cash management principles and/or procedures • Knowledge of appropriate billing and payment cycles for medical accounts • Knowledge of operational characteristics and procedural requirements of third party medical insurance payors • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, the Inter and Intranet and other programs/software as necessary • Working knowledge and hands-on experience of reimbursement with some medical billing background • Demonstrated problem solving skills, using good judgment, attention to detail and follow-through are a must • Excellent customer service skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills • Ability to prioritize work, multi-task and strong time management skills Education: High School Diploma and a minimum of one year related experience or a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university. Minimum of three (3) years working experience as a Cash Poster / EOB Analyst.
