We’re currently seeking qualified candidates to join our team in the position of: Associate Scientist Position Summary: This position requires strong experience in various molecular lab techniques, including experience with developing sequencing based tests (Sanger and Next Generation) and the associated analytical and bioinformatics knowledge to prepare results. This person will execute technical and laboratory aspects of in-house assay development projects. Design and execute laboratory experiments and testing programs, evaluate test data, and prepare associated documentation and reports. Must be technically sound to do sample collection, isolation and DNA extraction. Meticulous attention to detail, proficient reasoning and problem-solving skills in experimental design, data analysis, verification, manipulation and interpretation are required Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Create, execute, and troubleshoot new procedures and assays for new offerings/product development requests. Identify and troubleshoot problems that may adversely affect test performance/results and either corrects the problem or escalate as needed to senior staff member for guidance/assistance. Demonstrated understanding of, and ability to apply principles, concepts, practices and standards associated with analytical assay development/validation and/or sample testing in a laboratory setting. Ensure that quality control testing is performed and is within acceptable limits before undertaking patient or clinical specimen testing. Attend departmental and internal client meetings; develop and present data collected for assigned projects. Additional duties as assigned. | |
