| The
Associate Director Business Planning and Analysis will have Finance
lead responsibility over a business unit or function. Responsible for
proposing, challenging, evaluating, and monitoring all business
transactions for the purpose of maintaining or exceeding short term and
long term financial goals. Responsible for most BU or Functional
analytical functions, providing key performance metrics and guidance
that creates an environment for optimal BU or Functional performance.
The main operational responsibility is to support the 2nd largest GIS
site located in E. Hanover, NJ. Interact with site BPAs in the Region,
as needed. Major Accountabilities: 1. Prepare and consolidate the BU’s or Function’s Key planning deliverables which include: • Budget • Latest Estimates • 5 Year Financials for Strategic Plans • Analysis and control of operational expenses, including review of variations to the authorized budgets/LEs, demonstrating ability to understand rationale/impacts of changes vs. plans • Liaise with FRA (Accounting), GIS Service Line BPAs, Tax and other Hub/Region BPAs to facilitate the completion of these deliverables. 2. Senior Business Partner to GIS management providing professional financial guidance and sup-port in all aspects of decision making through thorough analysis including financial implications of different business case options. Serve as key BP&A contact for the BU or Function. 3. Maintain financial tracking system to facilitate accurate forecasting of financial results. 4. Drive continuous process improvements in the BPA area, creating tools, processes, reports and metrics to achieve this. 5. Identify Risk / Opportunities and initiatives to mitigate profit shortfalls within the forecast. 6. Identify, raise and resolve key business/financial issues. | BS Degree in Business Administration or Finance / MBA; Certified Expert in Accounting and Controlling or similar certificate - English: oral & writing - Another language (German,…) is appreciated Requires min. 5 years of relevant experience in following areas: - Business Planning and Analyses - Business process and controls - Budgeting, controlling and reporting - Cost management - Performance monitoring (KPIs, benchmarking) - Strategy implementation - Strong analytical skills - Ability to think critically, challenge conclusions and underlying assumptions - Knowledge of daily software, such as Excel and SAP A global healthcare leader, Novartis has one of the most exciting product pipelines in the industry today.
