Position Description:
In support of the ‘One Microsoft’ strategy, focused on creating a family of devices and services that empower people around the globe at home, at work and on the go, for the activities they value most, we are establishing a Commercial Sales & Operations Planning function within the Partner & Field Commercial Organization. The Commercial Devices COM co-ordinates cross-functional efforts to ensure the availability of Microsoft Commercial Devices to the right place at the right time and the productivity of inventory across MS commercial channels for NAOC markets assigned
We are looking for a passionate individual that is ready to drive end-to-end ownership for Sales & Operations Planning for Microsoft Devices into the Latin American market. This position engages with Product Marketing Managers in the Subsidiaries, Partner Sales Excellence Teams, Subsidiary Operations Managers, Business Groups and Supply Chain Management functions. This role will report to the Group Manager, Partner Operations.
The Commercial Devices COM must have the necessary confidence and skill set to deliver strong business results and play a key role in participating in large-scale Commercial Device launches and process improvement projects.
Success in this position requires proven business results in a Sales & Operations Planning environment, a passion for operational excellence, quality, process improvements, communication, cross-group collaboration skills and a desire to make an impact. The ideal candidate has a passion for Sales & Operations Processes, has a strong analytical skill set and possesses mature organizational abilities and ability to deal with ambiguity.
The main functional areas of responsibility are: Demand and Inventory Management, Life Cycle Management, Forecasting, Allocations, Order Management, Channel Inventory Management, Virtual Team Leadership, Reporting, Process Management, S&OP Subject Matter Expert & associated training.
Responsibilities:
• Demand and Inventory Management including new Product Launch: Work with relevant internal teams to ensure all new products are launched successfully into the Commercial Channel and oversee all related Commercial Channel Ops tasks, ensuring processes are defined & documented and launches are correctly planned and forecast. Ensure processes are in place for continuous monitoring of Commercial Device product.
• Order to Cash: Ensure partners are correctly invoiced for all their Device Transactions and liaise with Credit teams as necessary. Oversee special deals/promotions process, ensure Channel Incentive programs are established and paid to partners and ensure MS Sales Reporting is correct for all partners
• Cross Group Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: Develop strong relationships and engage extensively with other groups in relation to the end-to-end Sales & Operations Planning processes: Planning team, Manufacturing team, Credit Services, Tax/Trade, Legal, Pricing, Information Systems, Other P&F team members, Sales & Marketing, Business Groups.
• Process Management: Define new end-to-end S&OP Processes to enable scale, repeatable solutions and execution excellence, ensuring Roles & Responsibilities for all teams are clearly defined. Ensure processes are clearly documented and rolled out as necessary. Continuous improvement of key operations processes. Identify and support resolution of recurring regional issues and develop programs that eliminate them.
• S&OP Subject Matter Expert: Be one of the main Commercial Sales & Operations Planning points of contact with in depth understanding of the area and the ability to train others within the team and from other teams if required in our processes
o Optimize allocation of constrained supplies across Distribution, Reseller and Direct channels
o Manage products transition to maximize sales and minimize return
o Execute channel wide sales/marketing initiatives: pricing, promotions, product transition, etc.
o Lead cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of products to market
• Strategic Contributor: Development of best practices in supply chain and retail channel management. Actively participate in long range planning in supply chain, sales and marketing, digital operations and business groups within the global supply chain.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, operations management, or equivalent work experience
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain related functions, preferably within a Commercial, distributor or supplier to these channels
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience managing internal or outsourced order fulfillment, distribution and logistics
• Strong Project Management/Program Management experience, Project Management qualification preferred
• Leadership of cross-functional projects including setting scope, reaching consensus, execution, and presenting results.
• Experience with MS Office Applications, including advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience with SharePoint a plus
• Experience with SAP a plus
• Possess business acumen, able to think and plan strategically, and also able to execute tasks with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication, interpersonal & presentational skills with proven impact & influence to senior stakeholders within a subsidiary/regional environment.
• Results orientated with strong analytical and problem resolution skills
• Ability to be resourceful and work effectively while operating in a lean matrix organization within a country or regional context
• Ability to work under continual deadline constraints
• Strong process/system background and proven capability to rapidly understand, use and drive improvements in new processes/systems
• Strong critical thinking and resolution in sometimes ambiguous situations
