Key Qualifications
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of finance/accounting experience, preferably in high-tech industry
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented
- A passion for accuracy, thoroughness, “going the extra-mile” and a “can do” attitude
- Strong proficiency with Excel is required. Familiarity with SAP is a plus
Description
Roles
and responsibilities for this position include the following:
• Work with Engineering and Operations to set Capital equipment budgets
for future products.
• Track purchases against budgets
• Forecast expenses from depreciation of the assets
• Perform the accounting close
• Review, change and develop accounting policies
• Work with management and Technical Accounting on emerging issues
• Contribute in process reengineering of the area, including development
of a new system
• Interact with all levels (from analyst to Executive VPs) and
departments (such as other Finance groups, or IS&T, Faciltiies,
Procurement, Logistics, Planning etc.).
• Review manufacturing equipment purchase requisitions to ensure all
necessary information is provided and within expected parameters;
coordinate with Operations partners and other areas of Finance to make
any adjustments to purchase requisitions to facilitate approval
• Log purchase requisition activity against budgets as approved and
released by Operations and Finance executives
• Maintain and report out on manufacturing equipment purchase activity
against budgets, including variance reporting for quarterly forecasting
and close
• Maintain and report out on aging of open purchase orders; match goods
receipts to purchase requisition logs; coordinate closure of open
purchase orders as necessary
• Track and report out on non-standard payment terms activty
• Track and report out on manufacturing equipment spending in non-USD
currencies
• Facilitate reoccurring meetings to update on spend, highlight risk and
opportunities, and alert Operations business partners if additional
action is required
• At quarter-end, review open purchase orders and unpaid invoices and
provide accruals to ensure accuracy and integrity of expense recognition
• Coordinate all monthly forecasting and quarter close activities for
the Operations Research & Development activity
