Job Description Primary responsibilities for this position would include evaluation, design, implementation and maintenance of global data network as required by the business. The incumbent would manage implementations of data network solutions (domestic and international), assist in developing global architecture standards, and participate in setting strategy / vision for the department. Candidates should have a foundation in network design, implementation, and troubleshooting skills. Off-hours support and ability to travel are required.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop scalable network designs for both our campus and global networks
• Identify, research, and evaluate emerging network technologies
• Develop and implement network management and related tools
• Engineer solutions for the companies growing, resilient network infrastructure
• Develop global architecture standards for new network technologies
• Participates in the development of strategic plans for the department
• Provide consultation services for the business and IS clients
• Lead implementations of data network solutions - both domestic and international travel will be required
• Transition new solutions into operations
• Provide 3rd level operational support for all data network platforms - Off-hours support will be required
• Translates business requirements into network or process designs. Plans and recommends network hardware, systems management software and architecture
• Plans & designs Wireless, Network Security, LAN, WAN and external network data connections. Plans & designs network management systems and monitoring systems
• Evaluates and recommends new products, maintains knowledge of emerging technologies for application to the enterprise
• Analyzes technical needs, requirements, and state of the network’s infrastructure design, integration, and operations
Required Skills and Experiences
• Minimum of 7 years experience in Information Technology with a focus on Network
• At least 6 years experience with enterprise-class routers and switches (Cisco experience required)
• At least 6 years experience with network routing and switching protocols (BGP, EIGRP, and MPLS)
• At least 6 years experience with VoIP, QoS, and IP Telephony technologies
• At least 3 years experience with network security and related principles, best practices, and industry trends.
• Experience with network management protocols like SNMP and NetFlow, network management products such as Solarwinds Orion and network documentation products such as netViz and Visio
• Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline or work equivalent
• Demonstrated project management and coordination skills
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (English)
• Solid teamwork and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate to clients
• Creative problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work autonomously / independently as part of globally dispersed Global Network Services Group.
• Self-motivated team player
• Strong vendor and contract management skills (Desired)
Required Certifications
• CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate
• CCNP – Cisco Certified Network Professional
• Additional network certifications a plus
