It’s an exciting time to be at McDonald’s! The Midwest Region, with an existing portfolio of over 700 restaurants has an opening for an Area Real Estate Manager to join our team. We are looking for a strategic minded individual, with corporate or commercial retail real estate experience and strong financial acumen.

Responsibilities
This person will be responsible for the acquisition, development and re-development of McDonald's restaurants within the region. In addition to identifying specific sites, other accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
· Be familiar with various aspects of real estate and documents utilized to complete a project:
· Identify new site opportunities and relocations; ensure best location/value for all real estate acquisitions
· Be knowledgeable in reviewing site plans, floor plans, surveys and title reports
· Negotiate terms and conditions of real estate agreements
· Coordinate the review and approval of sites with the Region’s General Manager, Development Director and Real Estate Manager. Negotiate leases and prepare reports and other documentation for site approval
· Gather and analyzes new markets and existing restaurant markets in assigned geographical are
· Partner with Construction Manager to enhance convenience and customer experience through new restaurant openings and the existing portfolio in a timely manner and within budget
· Develop and utilizes a network of Brokers and other outside consultants
· Ensure quality control standards for real estate transactions (e.g. cost, time location, economics, market needs, and deal quality)
· Coordinate with operations, construction, and franchisees to gain the best real estate advantage for the Region
· Ensure that planning adequately balances existing restaurant base and other development activities
Minimum Requirements
Position Requirements:
· 3 years retail site selection and analysis, market analysis and financial feasibility in retail or food service.
· Bachelor’s Degree - Real Estate or Finance preferred
· Ability to analyze and research markets for the development of high volume restaurant locations
· Experience with municipal planning and zoning procedures
· Excellent negotiation skills (deal making)
· Project Management Skills
· Strong technology skills including Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Strong proven track record of individual and team accomplishments and the achievement of business goals
