The Enterprise Information Team is expanding to meet the demands of a growing Nordstrom business. We are looking for an experienced, operations-minded engineer who is passionate about operational excellence, system performance, manageability, enterprise monitoring, and quality of service. The ideal engineer is results oriented and committed to providing outstanding customer service every day. This role will work in partnership with developers, business partners, vendor resources and project managers to ensure successful delivery and implementation of data driven solutions. Responsibilities Designs and develops mappings in Informatica PowerCenter to accommodate business requirements for data extraction, transformation and loading Designs ETL workflow with job dependencies and scheduling Designs and develops web service mappings in Informatica PowerCenter Designs and develops exception and error handling Designs and develops data verifications and validation processes Tunes and optimizes ETL jobs for performance and throughput Interacts with DBAs and developers on data designs optimal for ETL performance Manages monitoring, job control and production support Performs data analysis on multiple source systems per project needs Participate in On Call support rotation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience preferred 3+ years of experience in ETL development (Informatica PowerCenter, SQL Server Integration Services, Oracle, IBM, etc.) 4+ years’ experience in Data Warehousing, with thorough knowledge of star/snowflake schemas Demonstrated experience structuring ETL environments based on best practices 3+ years’ experience with Unix shell scripting required Experience with real time data processing in Informatica PowerCenter with knowledge of its XML components preferred Experience with Informatica PowerCenter administration preferred Since 1901, Nordstrom has offered a wide variety of quality apparel, shoes and accessories for men, women and children at our stores across the country.
