The Crude Oil Trader role will be responsible for assisting in the development and subsequent implementation of STUSCO’s current business strategies and future growth strategies within the Gulf of Mexico region. This will include developing long term purchase and sale agreements, new pipeline/trucking/marine/rail equipment commitments, and management of associated risks required to achieve the strategic objectives.


Responsibilities:
  • Manage the book exposure for his/her area of responsibility
  • Assist in the development of commercial strategy
  • Manage customer relationships
  • Provide guidance and motivation to operations on a daily basis
  • Evolve and implement tactical plans covering day to day trading
  • Have a strong risk appetite
  • Be comfortable managing large and complex price exposure
  • Sponsor all relevant Business Development activities
  • Assume total ownership of trades
  • Ensure a first class supply service to our Shell and affiliated refining systems in North America
Requirements:
  • Must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full time basis for anyone other than your current employer
  • Minimum of three (3) years crude oil trading experience
  • Proven experience with Commodity Price Risk Management
  • In-Depth Crude Quality Knowledge
  • Marine/Shipping and Pipeline Knowledge
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Open to business travel
  • Ability to work beyond normal business hours including weekends and holidays
  • Highly motivated, self-starter with strong desire and drive to be best in the industry
  • Understanding of oil flows and arbitrages across regions
  • Demonstrated understanding of refiners’ behaviors and drivers
  • Negotiation and relationship skills
  • Team player, ability to operate under pressure, and to make quick decisions
