Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets has an opportunity for an Analyst to join the Private Placement Group in our New York based team.

Macquarie Infrastructure and Real Assets (MIRA) is a leading global alternative asset manager specializing in infrastructure, agriculture, real estate and energy investment management. With over 400 professionals globally and 18 years' experience, MIRA currently manages $45 billion in AUM which includes over 116 portfolio companies, 300 properties and 3.6 million hectares of farmland across 23 countries. MIRA's Private Placement Group (PPG) is responsible for the establishment of MIRA's private infrastructure and real asset funds by educating, marketing and securing equity commitments from large institutional investors (i.e., public and corporate pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and foundations and endowments) and the investment consultants who advise them.

As the infrastructure asset class continues to grow in North America, the group seeks a talented individual to join the MIRA PPG team in New York. The role will support the PPG team to direct and execute successful marketing efforts for MIRA funds currently in the market and in development. The candidate will be involved in all facets of the private fund establishment and capital raising process and will work directly with colleagues from MIRA's fund teams around the world. The broad scope of responsibility will be both challenging and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities and Job Duties:

Marketing and Due Diligence Materials

  • Draft, maintain and update fund-specific marketing and due diligence materials and exhibits, including Placement Memoranda, pitchbooks, due diligence questionnaires, and investor-specific due diligence materials
  • Prepare tailored marketing and due diligence materials for client meetings
  • Work with PPG and MIRA fund teams to respond to investors' qualitative and quantitative due diligence questions and questionnaires (DDQ's)
  • Sheppard prospective investors through the investment process from initial meeting to due diligence to the commitment closing process
  • Work closely with MIRA legal, finance, and compliance teams to ensure that marketing and due diligence materials are accurate and approved in accordance with firm's policies and procedures

Research
  • Compile research and draft briefing notes on prospects and existing investors in preparation for client meetings
  • Research and track competitor activity and market dynamics in real time, including fund terms, fundraisings and transactions
  • Research data, anecdotes and illustrations to draft internal documents on MIRA investment process, themes, and case studies
  • Compile industry research

Investor Education Events
  • Prepare materials for investor events, including developing agendas, reviewing portfolio performance and outlook, researching the industry and competitive landscape and determining event logistics
  • Draft investor briefing notes on investors for MIRA attendees

Tracking and Communication
  • Track overall fundraising progress
  • Track roadshow target lists and meeting schedule progress
  • Communicate with colleagues globally on North American fundraising progress

Job Requirements Including Qualifications and Skills:
  • Undergraduate degree required
  • Minimum 12 months experience in investment banking, private equity, alternative investment marketing, or related industry, with a broad understanding of the relevant industry sectors we support
  • Highly-motivated individual with ability to work both independently and in a large team setting
  • Able to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a high pressure environment
  • Able to maintain strong attention to detail coupled with a sense of urgency
  • Possess strong writing skills and research ability
  • Possess strong data management and presentation skills, including Excel and PowerPoint
  • Dedication to providing exceptional client service
  • Series 7 and 63 license preferred, or ability to obtain in a short time frame
