Essential Responsibilities	• Maintain 99.99% availability for all production databases and infrastructure • Develops pro-active database management solutions • Designs, tests and installs database management systems for use with applications • Pro-active and reactive performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting and resolution of issues • Regular database capacity planning related to database growth and system utilization, trend analysis and predicting future database resource requirements • Responsible for the control, integrity, and accessibility of the database file structure of one or more databases with multiple concurrent users • Constructs database specifications, provides fault isolation and resolution, and tunes database applications for optimum performance, and implements disaster recovery and contingency plans • Provide 24 x 7 escalation supports for SQL Server, MySQL and other database environments • Participating in a rotating on-call schedule with DBA team • Documenting the support procedure, change request, Project plans • Working closely with other team leads and their technical teams to ensure delivery of database services within the performance targets set • Defining database configuration standards related to performance and sizing for both transactional and data warehouse databases • Mentoring and knowledge transfer to other DBAs • Develops pro-active database management solutions • Designs, tests and installs database management systems for use with applications • Monitors database usage • Ensures appropriate linkages with applications to other data processing systems
Qualifications/Requirements	• 5+ years experience in SQL Server • Experience with two or more database technologies (Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server, etc.) • Experience serving as a project team member • Ability to coordinate efforts in line with the "bigger picture" to maximize the overall value of IT service delivery and demonstrated history resolving conflicts in priority • Awareness of and ability to deliver compliance requirements • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to interface and influence at all levels in the organization • Excellent interpersonal, presentation and facilitation skills • Analytic, creative and technical problem solver • BS Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science or related technical discipline or equivalent • Minimum four years IT experience
