This role will inspire, guide and ensure interactions across a cross-functional team of design researchers, interaction designers, human factors & usability specialists, design technologists, and visual designers in multiple sites and environments. The team will collaborate with users, product management, marketing, and engineering teams to help evolve new and existing user interfaces and workflows across GE’s Enterprise Imaging IT portfolio. | |
* Set strategic direction for User Experience across a breadth of products and technologies.
* Help in recruitment of skilled UX practitioners across the organization * Coach and mentor UX practitioners. * Lead and assist in the creation of formative design research deliverables including user profiles, personas, use environment profiles, and conceptual designs. * Lead and influence the creation of interaction design and information architecture deliverables such as site maps, workflows, user interaction models, low- through high-fidelity prototypes, and graphic assets. * Lead the execution and documentation of iterative usability testing activities, and ensure that findings are implemented within the design. * Lead the consistent implementation of GEHC UI design standards and pattern libraries to solutions under investigation and development. * Identify and share trends and methodologies relevant to user experience. * Effectively partner with product management, engineering, and other internal stakeholders to ensure programs receive appropriate UX support. Familiarity with Agile product development methods and frameworks. * Compellingly communicate UX research findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders at all levels of the business and to external customers. | |
* Bachelor’s degree in design / fine arts, psychology, engineering, science, or closely-related field.
* At least 5 years of combined professional experience applying user experience methods toward product design, and leading multidisciplinary teams of UX practitioners. * Proficiency with UX/UI research, design and prototyping tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Axure, Balsamiq Mockups, Morae, SPSS, SAS, or Tobii eye tracking. * Portfolio demonstrating track record of individual contributions and team leadership in design research, interaction/visual design, and human factors/usability methods toward creating commercialized products and experiences that improved customer satisfaction. * Excellent conceptual, problem-solving and oral/written communication skills * You must be willing to submit a background investigation, including for example, verification of past employment, criminal history, and educational background * You must be willing to take a drug test *You must be legally authorized to work in the United States * You must be willing to work from our GEHC facility in Pittsburgh, PA. * Able to travel up to 35% (Domestic and International). | |

Master’s or Doctorate in fine arts, or psychology with a concentration
in human-computer interaction, human factors / ergonomics, engineering,
science, design / interaction design, new- or multi- media design,
