Job Summary & Responsibilities
Operations is a dynamic, multi-faceted division that partners with all areas of the firm to deliver banking, sales and trading and asset management capabilities to clients around the world. In addition, Operations provides essential risk management and control, preserving and enhancing the firm’s assets and its reputation.Liquidity & Collateral Operations (LCO) manages the operational elements for daily funding and liquidity of the firm, oversees the firm's payment strategy and overall cash flows and positions, and also performs key functions related to counterparty risk management, client transparency, and product and pricing data. In addition to the traditional line functions, LCO is home to Operations Technology Strategy and Reference Data Strategy, both of which focus on strategic process and technology solutions for the division and often the broader firm.
The Master Agreement Risk Management team supports all derivative products across Goldman Sachs. The team's primary responsibility is to review and analyze counterparty documentation against what is captured in the Legal and Credit systems to ensure accurate information is flowing into downstream systems. Our work directly impacts transaction pricing, margin calls, confirm generation, collateral enforceability and the Firm's liquidity.
Primary Responsibilities include:
- Review and analyze ISDA/CSA and other Master documentation; Identify key risks in documentation
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the Legal and Credit systems
- Liaise with Legal, Credit, Middle Office, Strats, Corporate Treasury, Collateral and other internal GS teams on issues
- Work closely with IT to identify/resolve system issues, and implement system enhancements to increase efficiency in current processes
- Identify potential risks in operational processes; develop and implement controls to mitigate risk
- Work with the global team to produce reports and build metrics
- Adhoc issues
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree.- At least 6 years financial industry experience.
- Proficient in Excel.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of ISDA documentation and supporting CSAs- Knowledge of Derivatives business
- Understanding of securities
- Legal, Credit, Corporate Treasury, Funding background
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail - goal of zero defect in work product
- Strong control orientation
- Ability to work independently as well as be part of an interactive team
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage projects
- Good problem solving skills/solid judgment
- Excellent verbal and written communication – role requires a lot of interaction with internal clients
- Ability to grasp complex concepts quickly
- Self starter who will push themselves to learn
