What You'll Do
As an Area Claims Supervisor for John Deere
Financial, located in Rock Valley, IA, you will manage, develop, and
evaluate all fulltime and contract adjusters in Minnesota and Western
Iowa. In addition, you will:
- Work with the Regional Claims Manager in recruiting and hiring all adjusters in the assigned territory.
- Manage and direct all staff in the assigned territory, and communicate with the Regional Claims Analyst for work loads and assignment of claims for the territory.
- Gather information and report to the Finance and Risk Management team loss reserves.
- Communicate regularly with John Deere Insurance Company (JDIC) management regarding field status updates, customer, agent, and policy problems.
- Facilitate and support the development and training of assigned employees.
- Manage compliance audits for assigned territory.
What It Takes
We need an excellent communicator, both verbal and written, who
thrives on solving problems and working in a team environment. Ideally,
you will have a degree in business/management or an agricultural
sciences discipline or equivalent work experience. We also require:
- Strong interpersonal communications, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Experience in supervising technical, professional, and administrative personnel.
- Knowledge of the basics of crop insurance statutes and regulations, plus crop insurance programs, claims procedures and loss methodologies.
- Experience in claims management and field loss adjustment.
- Ability to travel domestically up to 75% of the time.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills.
A strong candidate will also have:
- Training experience especially in the Crop Insurance field.
- Ability to manage department budget.
