Job Summary

The CoreAudio team is looking for a bright and talented software engineer to work on Audio and Speech Codec development, primarily "perceptual" audio codecs. State-of-art audio codecs, such as the MPEG4-AAC codec family, have been a key component to the success of Apple products like iTunes, FaceTime, and all iOS based consumer devices. The broad spectrum of Apple products offers a rich demand for audio compression, and yet at the same time presents various challenges in codec development. This position is part of a highly motivated team that develops state-of-art audio compression technologies.

Key Qualifications

  • Expertise in audio signal analysis, subjective/objective audio quality assessment and psycho- acoustic models.
  • Expertise in exploiting characteristics of human auditory perception and digital signal processing schemes in developing algorithms for audio applications.
  • Experience in developing AAC or other psycho-acoustic model based audio codecs.
  • Excellent software programming (C, C++, and scripting languages such as Perl and
  • Python) and optimization skills.
