Join the Engineering team dedicated to the development of the software platforms for the Lighting controls, with direct impact on how the software connects the controllable LED lighting and sensors to the “internet of things”. The RTOS Specialist will help define the test and validation framework for the controls framework.
In this role, the RTOS Specialist will be responsible to:

  • Understand the requirements of the lighting control architecture, derive RTOS requirements.
  • Be able to articulate RTOS selection choices in terms of customer features.
  • Understand the existing embedded software, design and code structure, propose the migration path and support strategy
  • Propose various development scenarios and prepare well-articulated tradeoff analysis
  • Help establish guidelines and structure for embedded software development best practices
  • Drive the execution of the selected development plan
  • Design, code and test embedded software in a small team setting
  • B.S. or M.S. in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in software controls or related field
  • Very good communication skills, ability and desire to propose and defend an alternative development choice
  • Proven record of customization and deployment of a RTOS based connected system
  • Experience with the creation of the production software using best practices in software engineering
  • C and C++ design, code and test expertise.
  • Well versed with software life cycle development tools: issue tracking, requirement gathering, version control systems, etc.

  • Knowledge of technology advances and key process trends in related industries
  • Experience with product development life cycle (from innovation to production) of high volume products within Agile methodology
  • Wireless mesh networking systems technology, tuning, debugging
  • Knowledge of the back-end architecture
  • Knowledge of mobile app development
  • Knowledge about Internet-Security/Cyber-Security aspects (e.g. PSK/DTLS, Self-signed/root-certificates)
  • Demonstrated leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be a highly motivated team player with the ability to balance and manage multiple priorities.
