In this role, you will:
Support new / existing product lines relating to welding (Resistance / GTAW) and brazing (Furnace / Induction) process control
Develop welding processes including but not limited to:
fine wire / foil resistance welding, automatic and manual GTAW, plasma,
laser, and electron beam
Be responsible for development of brazing processes including furnace brazing and induction brazing
Support autogenous welding of materials including but not
limited to: Stainless steel, titanium, kovar, Inconel, aluminum, nickel,
tungsten
Qualify and maintain documentation for ASME code welding and brazing compliance
Have procedural control and process documentation ownership
for welds and brazes, ensuring compliance to required regulatory bodies
and standards, including but not limited to: AWS, PED, ISO, and ASME
Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code
Be responsible for qualification and training of production welders, brazers and operators
Have ownership and maintenance of weld training standards and requirements
Have ownership and administration of the weld / braze / solder qualification program
Maintain and improve current welding / brazing processes relative to existing product designs
Document design and process requirements utilizing work
instructions, weld procedures, and other associated manufacturing
documentation
Ensure welding / brazing processes comply with EHS standards
Optimize current welding / brazing processes by eliminating process variation for new and existing products
Participate in NPI programs consisting of design
development; critical features development, design reviews and
manufacturing implementation as it pertains to welding and brazing
Be responsible for design and implementation of weld
equipment and tooling to support new design while leveraging technical
expertise to increase efficiency and profitability
Optimize manufacturing processes utilizing Six Sigma and Lean methodology
Coordinate and analyze results from pilot runs of new product designs
Prepare all required documentation for new products and processes
Train production personnel in proper welding procedures / methods for new designs
Develop procedures and acceptance criteria for testing new designs
Optimize product yield by eliminating process variation
Conform to ISO 9001-2000 standards
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a Science related discipline
Minimum of 3 years of weld engineering and process experience, including qualification to standards

Hands on experience with production welding / brazing equipment
Effective interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
