The Field Service Engineer Trainee will be exposed to shop operation, installation, maintenance, repair, testing, adjustment, troubleshooting and technical assistance on Subsea Wellhead Equipment (SSWE) and associated tools with the intention of transitioning into an offshore SSWE Field Service Engineer role.
Under the guidance or instruction of an experienced shop Representative, the FSE Trainee will undertake any or all of the following:
  • Perform duties to assist in repair, removal, and maintenance of equipment and tools in the shop or possibly on customer sites within the geographical area of assignment
  • Participate in detailed Job Safety Environmental Analysis (JSEA) requirements for shop tasks
  • Comply with all applicable quality, health, safety, and environmental regulations
  • Technical High School Diploma / GEDELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability and willingness to work in different environmental conditions
  • Ability and willingness to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines necessary or desirable to meet its business needs
  • GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
  • Ability to perform basic computer skills including Microsoft Office products, Lotus Notes, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of onshore or offshore drilling and/or production
  • Strong mechanical background / experience
  • Capable of performing all the types of jobs designated and required in geographical area of assignment, not excluding international travel
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Green Belt certification (GE Employees only)
