Job Summary
This
individual, reporting to the West Area Higher Education System Engineer
Manager, will drive sales both by providing technical sales support and
by independently identifying and developing new business opportunities
within the territory to increase dramatically the adoption and
penetration of Apple products. They will architect, validate,
demonstrate, and sell complete Apple hardware, software, and services
solutions. This SE will provide technical leadership to their sales team
and customers as they influence executives, faculty, and technical
staff in a pre-sales capacity and will establish and maintain
relationships with executive leadership in their accounts. The SE must
be able to articulate persuasively the key differentiators and
competitive advantages of Apple solutions for Higher Education.

Description
TECHNICAL
Quickly
masters technical concepts, processes, details, and skills, and is able
to effectively communicate them to a wide variety of audiences
Both a technical generalist covering all of Apple's products relevant to
their customers' needs and a specialist in one or more technical
verticals
Engages effectively in architectural and technical discussions with
customer technical staff from the CIO to the Systems Programmer to Help
Desk Agent
Can self-study to gain knowledge for presentations and proposals
Uses broad industry experience to gain credibility and increased
influence with customer executives
TEAMWORK
Actively takes the technical lead role on the sales team
Coordinates independent activity with Account Executive's agreed plans
and goals
Proactively manages technical issues in accounts before they become
emergencies
Strategically leverages Apple and third party subject matter expert
resources to shorten the sales cycle
COMMUNICATION
Creates and delivers compelling presentations, demonstrations, and
seminars
Responsive
Actively coordinates activities and project status with sales team
members, manager, and customers
•Strong sales experience, including: qualifying, overcoming objections
and obstacles, and closing business
•Experience selling complex technical solutions
•Strong knowledge of Apple and core technologies
•Hands on knowledge of multiple operating systems including Windows, Mac
OS X, and iOS
•Knowledge of Mobile Device Management (MDM) concepts and tools
