Job Summary

HID SW is responsible for delivering the software and firmware for Apple’s Human Interface Devices, such as mice, keyboards, multitouch trackpads, multitouch screens, displays, remote controls, and various sensors. The team is a key part in driving an integrated customer experience involving new hardware, firmware and software designs, working with creative, smart people on world-class products and cutting edge technologies. We are seeking a Firmware QA Engineer to test Apple's next generation human interface devices including, mice, keyboards, trackpads, Multi-touch on iPhone, iPad, remote controls, and displays.

Key Qualifications

  • Typically require 2-6 years of firmware QA experience
  • Strong knowledge of the firmware QA process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to develop test guidelines from specifications
  • Proven skill in bug hunting and regression
  • Track record of shipping great consumer facing products
  • Knowledge of Macintosh system and Mac OS X or UNIX variant
  • Use of hardware debugging tools – USB and Bluetooth CATC, SPI/I2C
  • C/C++ or object oriented programming as well as test tool development
  • Testing automation using PERL, Python, AppleScript, or other scripting language

Description

- Responsibilities include owning quality of firmware on Mac and iOS devices - Writing guidelines for testing new products, executing tests using diagnostic software and hardware, isolating and documenting issues - Working cross-functionally to drive quality and communicate results - Successful candidate will be a motivated individual who independently follows up on issues, collaborates with developers to resolve low level issues and can understand and discuss technical issues with developers

Education

BS or MS CS/CE/EE (or equivalent)
