The Interest Rate Risk Management Group is part of the Asset/Liability Management Department within Global Treasury. Working with Executive Management, this group analyzes and recommends strategies for sustaining and growing net interest revenue, currently in excess of $2.0 billion, within established risk tolerance levels. Collaborating across the organization is critical to achieving this goal. The Group assists the business lines within State Street in analyzing the profitability of requests for balance sheet usage as they relate to alternative investments the Company could make. Quantifying the market, liquidity and counterparty risk of these balance sheet positions is necessary to provide a holistic recommendation to Executive Management and meet the requirements of Basel II for sound risk management.

The Assistant Vice President will be responsible for:
- Analyzing complex balance sheet, liquidity and interest rate risk issues
- Analyzing complex structured securities to understand the inherent risks and quantify sensitivities to modeling assumptions
- Developing recommendations to sustain and grow net interest revenue
- Providing guidance on Asset/Liability Management issues to Global Treasury Finance and, more broadly, the Company
- Works closely with senior managers to formulate business needs and determine the analytical tools and data needed
- Develops and updates complex financial models to generate analyses
- Conducts in-depth studies to understand the internal and market conditions impacting financial results
- Interprets analysis results. Provides strategic support to senior managers regarding financial and business opportunities and decisions
- Ability to learn new concepts and become a subject matter expert on various balance sheet and asset/liability management matters
- Assumes leadership role and provides guidance to team members; may lead teams/projects
- Applies knowledge/skills handling complex problems and/or coordinating work which may extend beyond own area of expertise; shares expertise with colleagues and other departments
- Bachelor's and 4+ years, or MBA (concentration in Finance) and 2-4 years
- CFA or CFA candidate highly desirable
- Strong quantitative aptitude/skills
- Experience in complex financial modeling and analysis
- Strong PC skills, including MS Excel and MS PowerPoint and Essbase
- Knowledge of financial markets
