Job Summary
Apple
internet services team is looking for a highly energetic engineer to
maintain, support, design, develop and enhance high-throughput
infrastructure applications that support iTunesStore,iCloud and Maps
services. The ideal candidate is a motivated problem solver who is able
to see the big picture and work efficiently with multiple cross
functional teams to drive the solution.
Key Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years experience designing,developing and monitoring large scale systems in Java.
- Strong Java Expertise
- including but not limited to : Core Java, Multithreading, Networking (including non-blocking IO), JDBC, RMI
- Knowledge of JVM Internals, GarbageCollection, Concurrency.
- Strong in Java Performance Tuning
- Experience with high throughput and scaleable applications in Java.
- Extensive experience in Distributed In memory DataStores (Coherence/MemcacheD)
- Knowledge of JMS (OpenMQ/ActiveMQ)
- Hadoop, HBase, ZooKeeper Experience a big plus
- Knowledge of version control systems such as Subversion or CVS
- Passionate about automation!
Description

Monitor, maintain and upgrade mission critical services.
- Interface with site reliability engineers, software developers,
systems administrators, storage engineers as well as networking
engineers.
- Write efficient software and procedures for production operations.
- Analyze and troubleshoot issues arising from large scale production
operations.
- Production software build and deployment process and related
automation.
- Rotate duty pagers, and be on-call in case of escalations.
Education
BS in computer science, mathematics or equivalent experience is required
