The Senior Quality Engineer will demonstrate leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for an area or business segment. In this role, you will utilize your experience or expertise to solve problems, develop and execute objectives, improve product and service quality and have the ability to effect short-term and some long-term business goals in order to meet or exceed customers’ expectations.
  • Prioritize and implement multiple concurrent process improvement projects, alone or as part of a multifunctional team, to drive customer satisfaction and business productivity
  • Lead quality initiatives and problem solving teams by utilizing quality tools and robust corrective action process ensuring effective solutions are chosen and implemented
  • Analyze production and service limitations, then develop, implement, and evaluate quality assurance process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques to track the progress of improvement efforts
  • Provide advanced quality engineering of new product introduction involving new processes, materials, or equipment
  • Work with New Product development teams to approve new suppliers of materials / services used in product realization; work with Sustaining Engineering and Manufacturing
  • Drive resolution of customer product quality or process issues by working with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
  • Work with Material Review Board to disposition nonconforming material and devise remediation actions
  • Act as consultant (as a recognized authority) to the quality, manufacturing and engineering organizations to improve Quality and Manufacturing processes, introduce new products and improve product design
  • Collect, organize, monitor and distribute information for the Company and to customers / suppliers related to product quality and process improvement
  • Ensures that the quality system is documented, implemented, maintained and audited.
  • Actively participates in management review activities
  • Conduct training on quality assurance concepts and tools
  • Reviews technical publications, articles, and abstracts to stay abreast of new developments in industry and quality standards
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of electrical, mechanical, or physics, or other relevant field, (or a high school diploma / GED with at least 4 years of experience in an engineering or quality position)
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience related to manufacturing, service or assembly environment and at least 3 years of experience in a quality role
  • GE will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening. Any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen.
  • Six Sigma certification
  • ASQ or equivalent certification
  • Ability to provide technical leadership and expertise to investigate, initiate, and follow key quality initiatives through to completion
  • Ability to assist in the development and implementation of new quality initiatives and tools
  • Ability to make recommendations regarding job methods and departmental procedures
  • Ability to write professional and technical reports and procedures
  • Ability to make formal and informal presentations to technical and non-technical staff and customers
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills essential
