Description
The
Procurement Program Manager (PPM) oversees the successful development,
launch, and sustaining of Apple’s strategic commodities from within the
procurement organization. In this role, the individual is responsible
for developing sourcing and integration strategies, and seeing them
executed to completion. The position requires an interest in market
dynamics and competitive behavior, emerging technologies, supply chain
processes, and risk mitigation.
A successful candidate will utilize soft skills to navigate the internal
organization and be able to influence key stakeholders to align with
strategic operational goals. The role is highly visible and the
individual will be seen as the subject matter expert for all things
related to the strategic commodity.
Key Responsibilities:
Work closely with Engineering, Operations, Global Supply Managers, and
AppleCare to seamlessly deliver cutting-edge commodities for Apple’s
consumer products.
Lead cross-functional teams to execute new product ramps and sustaining
qualifications.
Collaborate across the Apple organization to ensure business objectives
are met. Includes the ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate
findings to senior leaders and to proactively identify potential supply
issues that can effect product strategy.
Create and maintain a strategic roadmap for current and upcoming
technologies, understanding nuances and limitations of such, and working
through the procurement organization to map strategies for bringing
them up.
Support the Global Supply Managers in managing suppliers and bringing an
expert level of technical and operational knowledge to the business
table.
Assess and mitigate risks to the business. Manage global supply chain
disruptions in real time with the support of an international team.
Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes
and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence, and apply this
knowledge to influence Apple’s future product roadmap and sourcing
decisions.
