The Security Project Manager (PM) works with
the Incident Detection teams to develop and deploy security technology
tools used to protect network and information assets. The PM works with
GE business partners to implement security technologies and ensures
plans for security technologies integrate effectively with other aspects
of the technical infrastructure.
Supports the development, deployment and operations of tools / technologies and processes to support security requirements
Direct the activities of geographically dispersed teams to
implement new security tools and supporting infrastructure across
global data centers
Provide technical and / or project leadership function for assigned projects
Gather requirements from fellow team members, colleagues on the GE security teams, business partners, management, and vendors
Provide troubleshooting and maintenance on procedures and
controls necessary to ensure and protect the safety and security of all
information systems assets
Provide technical expertise and counsel to management, other organizations and special projects personnel
Make technical decisions by applying fundamental engineering principles and specialized knowledge or skills to assigned tasks
Collaborate with management in developing technical directions, setting objectives and setting realistic and challenging goals
Formulate plans to achieve overall goals, technical requirements, schedules and contract commitments for assigned tasks
Implement work activities to meet these plans, monitor progress and report status
Provide timely leadership and direction to supporting organizations
Assist in the modification or establishment of operating practices
Provide consulting services to program and project teams
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, Information Assurance or related field
Minimum 2 years of experience with program and project management methodologies
Minimum 5 years of experience in Information Technology
infrastructure – Linux servers, networking, etc. in a large or
enterprise environment
Eligibility Requirements:
Preferred location of Glen Allen, VA but will consider Cincinnati, OH as work location

Green Belt certification
Awareness of the latest cyber security trends and developments
Must possess strong analytical & evaluative thinking
Proven experience with program and project management methodologies and a solid track record of delivering business value
Strong oral and written communications skills
Strong Interpersonal and leadership skills
Technical experience in IT infrastructure - Linux servers, networking, etc.
