This position will help GE Capital identify and implement successful tax strategies for improving compliance accuracy, increasing automation, streamlining tax processes, managing risk and assisting with management initiatives. Main responsibilities include improving end-to-end processes that drive tax efficient performance and collaborating with functional tax leaders. Work with key leaders to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of GE Capital’s sales & property tax functions.
• Identifying improvement opportunities and responsive models and metrics.
• Identifying ways to improve tax function effectiveness by evaluating current roles, responsibilities and skill sets, benchmarks and leading practices.
• Designing effective tax processes, with appropriate controls and monitoring activities, with enabling technologies to increase efficiency, quality and reduce risk.
• Coordinating with Tax and IT to leverage technology and drive automation within the tax processes and reduce risk of manual error.
• Assessing and prioritizing tax risks to aid in strategy, planning and audit defense.
• Supervise and manage direct report (s).
•Bachelor's Degree (accounting, finance or MIS).
•Minimum 7 years of sales, MIS or property tax experience.
•Demonstrated strong communication skills.
•Experience managing direct reports.
•Proficient use of Microsoft Office (eg. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • This role is eligible for a Referral bonus award that is double the current eligibility amount for internal employees. All other guidelines under the WDYK program are applicable.

    •Financial Services Industry, Fortune 100 and or/ Big 4 experience.
    •Former State & Local Government experience.
    •Public accounting experience.
    •CPA, JD, CMI, MST or Six Sigma certification preferred.
    •Experience with tax software and ERP systems.
    •Experience in designing and implementing tax function operating models; assessing and improving tax processes and controls.
    •Experience in tax data and reporting requirements for ledger and consolidation systems tax process and operational assessments.
    •Demonstrate tax technical skills, an understanding of both direct and indirect tax applications, aptitude to remain current on legislative and regulatory tax developments and ability to apply tax law changes to collaboratively develop strategies in support of risk management policies.
    •Project management and presentation skills.
    •Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.
    •Ability to lead a team and drive concurrent work streams.
    •Financial Management Program (FMP) grad or Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) grad.
