Job Summary
The
Interactive Media Group (IMG) provides the media and graphics
foundation across all of Apple's innovative products, including iPhone,
iPad, Apple TV, iPod, iTunes, and Mac OS. Combining cutting-edge
software techniques with next-generation hardware, IMG takes the media
experience to the next level.
The Media Systems team is looking for a software engineer to join our
group in developing and maintaining Apple’s state of the art media
engines for iOS and OSX. As a software engineer on the Media Systems
team, you will play a role in expanding our support of media file
formats, and growing the tools available for developers
Key Qualifications
- •3+ years working as part of a software development team
- •Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- •Strong object oriented programming and design skills
- •Proficiency in C/C++.
- •Familiarity with popular video formats such as H.264, HEVC
- Desired Experience:
- •Experience analyzing and optimizing software performance, both to improve speed and efficiency and to reduce power consumption.
- •Proficiency in Objective C.
- •iOS and/or OSX software development experience preferred
Description
The
successful candidate for this position is a hard working,
detail-oriented, team player who is comfortable in a dynamic
environment. You are good at handling complexity and driving projects
through to completion. You have experience optimizing real time systems
for performance and power usage. In addition, you will have experience
working with video software, and a solid understanding of modern video
and audio formats, including H.264 and AAC.
Education
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or equivalent
