Within Ernst & Young's Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) practice, our Private Equity Value Creation group provides a full range of buy side and sell side services to help PE firms create incremental value, including Operational Due Diligence, Operational Restructuring, and Operational Performance Improvement Solutions.  Private Equity Value Creation works with cross-functional teams made up of members of both the acquiring and acquired organizations.  We currently have a career opportunity for a Senior Manager to join our Private Equity Value Creation team.
 
TAS offers companies professional transaction experience, from the strategic analysis phase of the transaction lifecycle, through execution, to transaction integration.
 
Responsibilities
  • Lead client engagement teams executing Private Equity Value Creation which support key decision makers in developing and executing their transaction strategy to secure deal value.
  • Provide engagement team leadership in fostering an open and inclusive environment and effectively lead and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds.
  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of all phases and aspects of methodology across integrations, carve-outs, and other types of transaction engagements.
  • Demonstrate strong transaction knowledge in a particular industry (e.g., manufacturing, life sciences, consumer product goods, industrial products, technology, retail, etc.) as well as depth in a particular functional area (e.g., Pricing, Sales & Marketing, Information Technology, Supply Chain, and Finance).
  •  Demonstrate ability to identify operations performance improvement and value creation.
  • Lead business development activities to sell work through development of internal and external client relationship networks.
  • Deliver a high degree of client satisfaction with the engagement process and work products sufficient to drive additional and repeated engagements.
  • Successfully supervise, coach, and mentor all levels of staff.
  
Qualifications
 
To qualify, candidates must have:
  • a bachelor's degree and approximately 8 years of related work experience; or a master's degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience
  • a degree in business, accounting, finance, engineering, computer science or related field
  • experience related to mergers and/or acquisitions, spin and carve-outs
  • experience in operations performance improvement, private equity value creation, business integrations, and carve-outs, with a demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis
  • experience in operational due diligence and private equity due diligence
  • knowledge and understanding of the PE deal model and how to manage the Profit/Loss and Balance Sheet
  • experience leading and managing in complex business environments
  • ability to make detailed assessments of technology, operations or manufacturing infrastructure
  • ability to determine risks and opportunity areas
  • ability to synthesize approaches to complex integration conflicts
  • ability to adapt to new challenges and ideas
  • excellent problem solving, project management, facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • proficiency in storyboarding and PowerPoint skills
  • ability to manage complex data models and derive insights
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • a dedication to teamwork
This position requires willingness and ability to travel (up to 75%).
